THE SHOW. . .

Once Upon a time there lived a beautiful princess with an evil stepmother. So she did what only a burlesque performer could: she killed her by slamming her head in a costume trunk!

Free from woe our heroine persuades her adoring father to marry her beloved Nurse instead. But alas the Nurse uses her seductive charms to enchant the father, and replace the princess with her own revolting daughters.

No longer called Princess but now Cenerentola - “Cinder Girl” – our heroine sits alone watching the fireplace whilst the vile sisters have all the fun. Yet help is at hand as Cenerentola is visited by the beautiful fairies of Sardinia. With the help of a little magic and a good backing tune, Cenerentola is stripped of her rags and slipped into a costume fit for the Burlesque Ball...

After marvelling at some of London’s finest cabaret creations (from special guest acts), Cenerentola meets the King himself. They dance. They fall in love. Yet not wanting to be discovered for her lowly self, Cenerentola leaves before saying goodbye.

The King searches high and low but he still can’t find the belle of the ball. But, when her magical slipper is discovered by one of his henchmen the King is finally re-united with his true love. After singing, dancing and Burlesque celebration, Cenerentola is finally crowned Queen whilst the ugly sisters look on in disgust.

With twisted physical theatre, bawdy burlesque and a hint of Pantomime - Cenerentola mixes childhood nostalgia, a night out to a strip joint and a side show freak act.

Featuring the Finger in the Pie Ensemble (‘Powerful and inventive’ – Three Weeks), Gypsie Love (‘The Welsh Dita Von Tease’ – Time Out), Zoe Charles of Scarletine Delight and a selection of the best acts from Finger in the Pie Cabaret 2007 (‘Cutting edge burlesque’ – Time Out) - this is a Christmas extravaganza not to be missed.
