Finger in the Pie and Roundhouse Young Creatives present a weekend window into the world of cabaret and variety performance and have a go at some techniques yourself.
Absolutely no experience necessary, this is a safe space encounter new performance styles and see if its for you. You don’t need to prepare anything, but do wear comfortable shoes and clothes – there will be lots of chances to get up on your feet and try ideas.

Tutors include: award winning magician Neil Kelso, clown and professional idiot Kiki Lovechild, musical story-teller Anna Lou Larkin, and mime, cabaret and boylesque artist Pi the Mime.
WORKSHOP OUTCOMES
- Learn about several different styles of cabaret and variety performance
- Have a go at hosting/compereing, physical performance and developing a character or persona.
- Improve your confidence in writing and performance.
- Feel more prepared to pursue a longer Roundhouse cabaret performance project.
Roundhouse Young Creatives is an open access programme for young people aged 11 – 25, of all backgrounds to explore their creativity through music, performing arts and media projects. Projects run year-round at all levels through a range of termly, holiday and year-long programmes.
