Kiki Lovechild
Artist in Residence
Finger in the Pie
Kiki Lovechild is a professional idiot. He is one of the leading cabaret clowns on the UK circuit, touring with variety and burlesque shows as well as performing in theatrical projects. Over the years thousands have enjoyed his tried and tested routines; whether it’s his popular clown character, stunning butterfly and snow blizzards, historical vaudeville performances or his quirky portfolio of puppet-based burlesque (Furlesque) routines. His work is equally at home on large stages – such as The Kings Theatre in Portsmouth, The Royal and Derngate Theatre or Nalen Hall in Stockholm – as well as more intimate venues such as Speigeltents. His solo clown show The Weatherman successfully toured on and off during 2013 – 2015, achieving critical acclaim and five and four star reviews. On the back of this success, he is currently working on two new theatrical shows of his own,
both already booked into venues for 2016. Away from the stage, Kiki works in promoting the art of clowning through teaching his own workshops to cabaret performers and assisting on longer clown workshops as part of his role in The Why Not Institute – a newly relaunched clowning institute for theatrical and character clowns in collaboration with world-renowned clown Angela de Castro.
